Horror of Dresden Bombing
Feb 13 2004
DRESDEN by Frederick Taylor. Bloomsbury, priced £20.
THE cataclysmic Allied bombing of Dresden in Germany on February 13 and 14, 1945, three months before the end of the Second World War, has become one of that conflict's most controversial episodes.
In the ensuing years, fact and myth have blended, creating a distorted picture of what happened in the ferocious air attack, which caused a firestorm, destroyed the city and killed tens of thousands of civilians.

Was Dresden an Atrocity?
February 8, 2004
BY ART SHAY
"Dresden no longer exists in its entirety," wrote a sad 19-year-old resident of the city. "Its best and most beautiful places have been reduced to ashes. Its greatest palaces and streets where art and pomp competed for ascendancy, are heaps of stones. ...Its wealthiest ctizens have become poor, for what little was spared by the flames has now been taken from them... Whoever saw this Residence before, in full flower and glory, and looks at it now, would have to possess no heart were he not to be moved to the extreme by its present wretched circumstances, and stirred to tears of pity."

The Myth of the Morally Superior Yankee
by Thomas J. DiLorenzo
    "Hillary Clinton is a museum-quality specimen of a Yankee – self-righteous, ruthless, self-aggrandizing"
~ Clyde Wilson
Being born and raised in Pennsylvania, I am a northerner but not a Yankee. The same is true of my friend Lew Rockwell, a native of Massachusetts who would qualify for membership in Sons of Union Veterans. The word "Yankee" gained popularity in the early to mid nineteenth century to describe a particular brand of New Englander: arrogant, hypocritical, unfriendly, condescending, intolerant, extremely self-righteous, and believing that he and his were God’s chosen people.

Yes, Jews do Engage in Anti-Semitic Behavior
By Edward I. Koch
Of all the anti-Semitic slurs, one of the most outrageous is that Jews secretly control the world.
This false and foolish accusation has been heard many times. In March, 1997, the black Muslim cleric, Louis Farrakhan, said on CNN's "Evans and Novak" that Jews "meet once a year or so in Hollywood or in Park Avenue to look at the trends of America and the world. And if there are trends they do not like, then they write scripts, they write movies, they write books. They do things to influence the trends. And that is why I intend to stay on this path until there's some change made. Black people are going to be free of Jewish control."

After studying fossils in a region called Dragon Bone Hill in China, anthropologist Russell Ciochon of the University of Iowa concluded males of the species were clubbing one another over the head, probably to win females.
